VA for Break

Time flies! It seems that I have just gotten back to school, but our winter break is already here! Thankfully, I made it through my exams okay (I think, I haven't gotten my bio exam back yet!).

I'm going to Virginia for break again, this time I'm staying with Kirsten's family. Should be fun, we're trying to make it into DC one day.

I found out this morning that Olivia went to be with Jesus last night. Was sad and i cried...ugh. Life stinks sometimes.....cool that she gets to be in heaven but pretty stinky trying to live without her in our lives. I'm planning on going to her memorial service next weekend.

I'm hoping you all have a nice weekend! Hugs, Me

Exams, Valentines, and a Snow Day

I made it through most of my exams! :) All except the Biology one which got postponed to next Wednesday due to the snow day on Valentines Day! :) It was the first snow day in 18-22 years here at Grove City College...kind of crazy! We had fun though and didn't object to not having classes! haha

Our soccer team is doing okay...mostly we're just having fun! We lost 2 games, won one and tied one thus far....but it is a good way to break up the week and to get some exercise!

I'm doing the Relay for Life this year! I was going to create a team but didn't get the notice about the organizational meeting until the night before the sign up and I couldn't make it to the meeting so I joined the ACS(American Chemists Society GCC Chapter) team. I think it will be fun!

Mom called this morning and told me that Olivia (my friend who has a brain tumor) had taken a turn for the worse. She's not doing very well and the cancer is spreading. She's a senior in high school. Please keep her in your prayers. I put together a get well package this afternoon and Katherine (my roomie) is heading up another package of get well cards from the girls on our hall. Everyone is so nice about it!!!

Alissa (lives next door) has her orchestra concert tomorrow night. I'm wicked excited to go to it; I went to the fall one and it was amazing!!! Will be a nice chance to relax!

I signed up for the ACS trip to the Carnegie museum in March....it was only $6 and I thought like it sounded like a good fun way to get off of campus!! haha

Well, I have to go finish writing my bibliography for my Civ Arts paper,
Hugs, I love you and miss you all! Love, Elizabeth

Almost Friday......

Hello!!!

Well this is just a quick post... I have a lot of studying to do for my classes tomorrow! But this is probably my last post for a few days because I have 3 exams next week: Bio, Chem, and Civ Arts. yummy...not.

Intramural Womens soccer started on Tuesday. Our team, The Ethelettes [named after our dormitory :)] lost our first game 0-2 (Tuesday) but we rallied and tied our second game 1-1 (tonight). We are getting better and managed to recruit one of the freshmen who plays varsity to our team....that helps! :) We are having a blast! We have about 15 girls on our team so and only 6 are in at a time but it allows for plenty of subs and if someone can't make it, it still works out.

There are a lot of people visiting our hall this weekend...seems like this is the weekend when everyone wants to visit!!! I think there are close to 15 people visiting!

OH! There is a dance tomorrow night called the Extravaganza, a bunch of us are going and it should be a blast....apparently everyone on campus goes, and it is held in Ketler Rec...I got my ticket this morning and it is number 547 and my RA got hers this afternoon, it's number 850-something!!!!! That is a lot of people!!!!

Unfortunately my chem homework is calling! I love you all! Elizabeth

February!

Well, the lovely short month of February has arrived! It is pretty darn cold and windy here, tomorrow the high is supposed to be 10*F.....a little chilly!

Our Intermural (IM) soccer team had their first practice this morning, at 11am! We all rolled out of bed and pulled on shorts to go play. Our hall has a team, there are about 15 of us who are playing, that way if one of us can't make a game it doesn't mess it up for the team. Only a couple of people played HS soccer (okay so maybe only 3!), but most of us have at least played once, even if it was in second grade! :) I think it will be fun and it is great exercise, now I just need to get to Walmart to pick up some shin guards.....

Alissa slept on the floor in my room last night as she wasn't feeling well and there were alot of girls in her room watching a movie....it was fun, we only chatted for a bit and were asleep by 1:15 :)

I'm headed to the guys varsity basketball game this afternoon....their record isn't too bad so it should be fun! And then I have to finish reading Genesis for my Monday night class. Miss you all and many hugs!
