Halfway!

Almost done! 2 Finals down and 2 to go! I am so excited to be coming home! A month seems like so long but I know from how fast this past one flew that it is really only the blink of an eye. My Bio and Huma finals went okay, and now I have my chem one in the morning and my econ one one weds. morning.....and then HOME!!!

We went to the Sandy Lake Weslyan church again today. I like it there, the people are nice and the music/pastor are good too. Probably my favorite church so far. But Mt. Olive is close behind. I like the pastor at Mt. Olive better but the music at Sandy Lake is nicer... I don't know...it is hard to find somewhere that fits and feels like I belong. I can't wait to be home at my church.

It is hard to believe it is almost christmas, although my chocolate countdown calandar tell me it is only 8 days away. It doesn't seem like Christmas could be so close!

Well, time to buckle down and study hard for my chem final, it is hard because this is the first multiple choice chem test we've had and I have no idea how to prepare for it. I don't know whether it will be calculations and then I'll have to pick the right answer or if it is primarily over concepts. I'm praying the latter because that is my strong point. I'm not so good at calculations, my head gets all jumbled and I can't remember which formulas go with which problem types. Oh well. God has it in control.

Hugs to you all! Love, me :)

Crunch time....

Well, we are winding up to Finals week. My last day of class is tomorrow! Wow, I can't believe how fast it flew....yet how long it seems that I have been here.

It seems like I've been here forever because: I can't imagine life without the girls on my hall, I need a hug from my mom but it seems like eternity since I have had one, I can walk to the bathroom with my eyes closed and not run into the wall :), I have a clean room, I've lost 5lbs due to the "delicious" bon apetit food service, and I can't imagine living without straws plastered all over my walls!

Yet it seems like I have just arrived because: I still don't know all the girls on my hall half as well as I would like, I still feel like a kindegartener stuck in the high school on some days, and well, I honestly couldn't have gone to bed after 12:30AM for 4 months, could I? It seems like my parents just dropped me off yesterday, and that I've actually been to walmart more than 3 times in 4 months, haven't I? I guess not.

Lisa and I lost of first and last badminton game of the season tonight. We played really well but the team we played was by far the best we've played all season. We had fun though and it helped to break up the week and keep us motivated for classes.

The snow is gone and the temp is back up in the 50's. The students are mourning it's disappearance, no more late night(early morning) sliding parties! Katherine (my roomate) and I could here them laughing and screaming all night long last week. The best hill on campus is just on the other side of the street from our window. On the other had though, I am glad it is supposed to be warm because that way hopefully we will have good weather to drive back to Maine in next Wednesday.

Well, I missed dinner, looks like campbell's is cooking tonight! haha oh well it will feel good to my throat.

OH!!!! Exciting! I was talking last week....(on a blah day when I wasn't feeling good and when I was kinda homesick).... that I really wanted to make Taco Soup! Well, I didn't have time to go to the store AND make it so I resigned myself to just dreaming about it. This afternoon though when I opened my door there was a bag in the hall that said "Pelkey" (that's what they call me here).....I could tell by the paper it was from Alma Jean. It was all the ingredients I needed to make Taco Soup! :) :) :) I was sooooooo excited and ran to find Alma Jean, but she wasn't around and she isn't back yet. Happy Happy!!!!

Time to hit the books....and try to beat some of this knowledge into my thick skull....

Hugs and love you all! E.

Happy Days

Yay, for the weekend!

It stopped snowing and we were left with about 3-4" of snow to slide in, to have white wash wars with, and to wrestle in! It has been a blast, seeing as we only have one sled between about 10 of us...we have been trying to utilize pizza boxes and poster board. We contemplated trying to swipe a few trays out of the cafeteria, but they have people at the doors....and it would be really hard to not get caught! (banana's are and entirely different matter!) :)

Last night we went caroling with our brother hall and then had a Christmas party with them afterwards....it was wicked fun! We went caroling at the assisted living center down the street, in a couple of the dorms and at President Jewell's house. :) There were only a few snow brawls along the way! After caroling we had our party and did a white elephant gift exchange, ate lots of food and played psychiatrist, mafia, and assasin....fun times!

Tonight after I watch the shuttle launch at 8:25 (check it out! http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/live_tv.html ) I'm headed over to enjoy the Christmas season with Hick's 2nd Floor (Tyler's Hall)....which means I have alot of studying to do in the meantime....

Oh, I went to the healthcenter yesterday where the Dr. concurred that my finger is most likely not broken, just jammed and that I have a cold virus. AND because I can't do robitussin w/Codeine, then I just have to suck it up and keep working on just robitussin and the rest of the stuff I have been doing....yuck. Oh well.

Pray my mind can focus and stay clear as I enter into this week finishing up this semester and getting ready for finals!

Hugs, and love to you all! E.

YAY!

Well, today it is snowing.....just a little storm but a storm nonetheless! It is so pretty! I might have to go make snowangels again! (after studying for my Biology exam of course!)

Today was the last day of chemistry lab...I think it was my favorite lab so far....just cleaned out our drawer. But that was followed by the ceremonial making of S'mores over a bunsen burner :) yummy!

I have to go and see my Fitwell (PE) coach this afternoon and try to explain to her that I am sick and the way my body works that I won't be performing well at all for my test tomorrow....ugh, I hope it goes okay, I don't want to sound like I am sucking up.

Wow, it is snowing so hard and the wind is blowing....I can't see out my window!

Some Days

Well, some days just kind of feel like I might as well be kissing a pig for all the good that seems to come out of it... but it seems like God always sends those little things to bring me back up again.

An example of this is yesterday I had my biology practical exam. I was not looking forward to it. At all. From what I had heard, everyone flunks it. Combine that with my fuzzy mind the past couple of weeks and you can see why I was worried. I decided that I would either flunk it outright or I could just do my best to work through my mind and flunk with style... I chose to flunk with style! Amazingly though, when I got into the lab and started the practical it wasn't as bad as I had anticipated! I don't think I flunked it! Yay! (Either that or God just gave me incredible knowledge and data retrieval from A&P last year!)

My badminton partner and I won our match last night! It is so much fun! I think we will be going to the playoffs as we are undefeated and we only have one game left.

Well, last night at around 11:15 a few friends of mine (guys and girls) decided to make snow angels....it was wicked fun and we had a blast! There was also a snowball fight and a white wash war involved.... haha :)

Oh, :) I am doing secret santa with a bunch of the girls on my hall...unfortunately I knew there was a reason I needed to go to walmart this weekend... :s Soooo, needless to say I had no wrapping paper....but all is well! I used the silver wrapper off a 1/2 lb Hersheys bar instead! :) It worked great! I just have to find some more little stuff to keep giving...

Okay, hope all is well, have a great afternoon! E

Hey

Well, this is my first post....never done the blog thing before so bear with me while I figure this out, k?

Well, my days are a little crazy these days, classes are winding up to the finals, and I'm stressed...I've been sick with a wicked bad cold for the past week and a half and haven't really been able to concentrate on my studies very well.

It snowed for the first time today...wicked pretty, and just enough to make snow angels :)

I decided to play IM Badminton this half of the semester, my partner is Lisa who's initials are also EP...so we made that our team name! YAY! We have had 2 games and also one team forfeited. We won our games so we are 3 for 3!!! Pretty good considering I've never played really before! It is fun, and I never guessed it would be good exercise...

I am still trying different churches. I like Mt. Olive but I'm not sure that is where God would have me be. I tried a Weslyan church on Sunday and I liked it...good worship and an interesting sermon...we'll see.

The girls on my hall are awesome and I like them alot.... I've really hit it off well with a few of them and we are pretty crazy when we are together! :)

And for all of you who keep asking....no there is no boyfriend, and I don't think there will be anytime soon.... but don't worry, I will be fine! :)

Hugs to you all, I miss you.....
